Hello You & Welcome!
I’m Katayoon, though most people call me Kate.
The universe of The Benevolent Series was born from a very good girl who genuinely believed the world was benevolent. You know, kind, fair, well-meaning… running on a universal operating system of harmony and peace. (Adorable, I know.)
It was a sharp curveball to discover it was, more often than not, malevolent.
That good girl became an engineer. She designed bridges, water systems, and later, policies and programs to help her city fight the climate change crisis. (I still work on these files every day, they are beautiful, benevolent contributions.)
And yet, the fires of the world seem to burn hotter.
With a realization that there may never be a cure for my debilitating empathy, or for the question that echoes in every human soul: What am I supposed to do? And where am I supposed to go?
So I carved out this small corner of the universe for the same reason a lone sailor, adrift in an endless ocean, fires a flare into the dark. For the hope that somewhere, someone is looking up.
If you’ve arrived here through a piece like,

or

welcome!
I’m so glad you found your way here.
Two is always better than one.
